Company Profile

History

Saint-Gobain Abrasives Canada Inc. was founded in 1920 under the name Norton Canada Inc. to produce vitrified grinding wheels. In 1930, pulpstone production began and the second World War demanded further expansion, which included organic bonded products. In the 1960’s, coated abrasives (sandpaper) and diamond tools were added to the product line. In the late 1980’s, a strategic decision was made to have Saint-Gobain Abrasives Canada Inc. specialize only in pulpstone manufacturing.

Today

In addition to pulpstone production, Saint-Gobain Abrasives Canada's Hamilton, Ontario facility is home to the Canadian sales and customer service organizations for other Saint-Gobain businesses including Industrial, Consumer, and Automotive Aftermarket. The Pulpstone Business Unit is headed up by XYZ.
